Spring Whitewater Rafting with Ken and Rick
Ken Nelson and I have been guiding together for over 20 years. Each year as we transition from skiing to rafting, we’ve kicked around the idea of creating some special trips on the Upper Sacramento. The question always revolves around getting small groups of friends to come play with us and making it affordable.
So, for 2010 it’s no frills season on the Upper Sac…

YES friends ! What a GREAT DISCOUNT for those willing to bring their own lunch … that saves about $20+ bucks per person!! If I wasn’t guiding YOU ALL, I’d sign up!
It really is beautiful and clean water … and the best 1 day river trip around!
Just wondering if you ever go beyond June for the Upper Sacramento with greater than average rainfall years? (We’re going to be camping at Castle Crags July 5-10 and would LOVE to do this run.) There are 8 of us. Please let me know if there is any possibility of doing a run between these dates. If not, we’d be interested in the Trinity river run, but this is much more out of the way for us as we live in the East Bay and would hope to do a trip either on the way up to Castle Crags or on the way home.
Thanks!
Dina,
Yes, this is a year that the Upper Sacramento will go into July. We have trips planned for July 6 & 7 this year. The 7th would be best for us, but if the 6th fits your schedule better, we do have space available. If those dates don’t work, let me know if you need another date in that time frame and I may be able to put a trip together for you. Castle Crags is only 10 minutes up the road from our put-in on the Upper Sacramento.
Thank you,
Rick
