Here is a list of items we suggest
you bring on your rafting trip. Multi-day trips on the Lower
Klamath, Rogue, and Owyhee are wilderness style...we take everything
with us on a separate gear raft. Please pack as lightly as
possible. You will probably need less than you think. You will
have a waterproof bag for all of your personal clothing (including
your sleeping bag). Tents, pads and tarps will be packed separately.
If you wish to bring a tent, it should be small and lightweight,
and please mark it (and your pad and tarp) with your name.
On all other trips you'll have access to your vehicle or our
van, so packing isn't as critical.
During the summer, we will probably be wearing swim suits
and sun protection clothing only. The weather is generally
hot and sunny, but afternoon rain showers occasionally happen.
Early mornings can be cool until the sun reaches the canyon.
In the spring, farmer john style wetsuits (or drysuits) are
needed on all rivers. Fleece type clothing is recommended.
Cotton and down dry out slowly and have no insulating value
when wet. The weather can vary from warm and sunny to cold
and rainy. Please come prepared for a variety of weather conditions
and make seasonal adjustments to what you bring.
If you wish to rent camping gear, we have tents, sleeping
bags, and pads available. For spring trips, we have farmer
john wetsuits (included on the Upper Klamath) and neoprene
booties. On Class 2 and 3 trips during the summer we bring
a few inflatable kayaks for shared use. If you would like to
have an extra kayak reserved for yourself or to share with
friends you may rent additional ones. Please let us know if
you need rental equipment when making your reservation.
